About the Project
Fatoura is a mobile invoicing application designed for small businesses and freelancers. Developed for Brainiac, the project emerged from a concrete need: to transition an existing desktop app to mobile, while completely rethinking the user experience.
The desktop version suffered from an outdated interface and unintuitive navigation. My role was to go beyond the limitations of that version to create a clearer, smoother, and more mobile-appropriate experience.
Working closely with the team, I led UX research, designed user flows, started ideation with hand sketches, and produced all the final interfaces in Figma.

The Problem
Before the mobile redesign, Fatoura was only available as a desktop tool, with an outdated UI that didn’t meet modern user needs. The experience lacked fluidity, was not designed for frequent usage, and users struggled with even simple tasks. This led to several key problems we identified during the research phase:
01
Unintuitive desktop interface
The old version wasn’t designed for mobile: it had confusing navigation, visual clutter, and no clear hierarchy.
02
Lack of accessibility and smoothness
Users wasted time searching for information, slowing down adoption. Simple tasks like viewing an invoice or tracking an expense were cumbersome.
03
Experience didn’t meet modern expectations
Today, mobility is essential: users expect to manage their finances anytime, anywhere — easily.
The Solution
We redesigned Fatoura as a mobile-first application, with a simpler structure, guided user flows, and a more spacious, touch-friendly interface.

Users can:
View their invoices at a glance with filters by date, client, or status
Track expenses clearly in a chronological view
Navigate intuitively with simple icons, reusable components, and strong visual hierarchy
The UI approach is clean, professional, yet modern — with well-spaced elements and a calming color palette.
Project Highlights

Rethinking an existing app
A critical analysis of the old desktop version to identify friction points and turn them into UX improvement opportunities.

Sketches to Figma
Quick ideation with paper wireframes before moving to Figma to build the full mobile architecture.

Clear data visualization
Invoices, expenses, clients — all are structured for fast access without overwhelming the user.

Project completed in 1 month for Brainiac
Smooth collaboration, full deliverables, and a ready-to-integrate interface.
Design Process
01
Desktop version audit
The project started with a detailed evaluation of the existing desktop app. I listed key friction points: confusing navigation, information overload, and weak visual hierarchy. This provided a foundation for the mobile revamp.
02
Paper sketches
Before jumping into Figma, I started with quick ideation on paper. This allowed me to explore navigation logic, simplify flows, and test different ways to visualize key data like invoices and expenses.

03
Final UI design
The final interface is clean, accessible, and modern — aligned with the target users (freelancers, small business owners). I focused on a soothing palette, readable typography, and well-spaced components for better legibility and touch usability.

04
Handoff for development
Each screen was documented, componentized, and clearly presented to streamline handoff to developers. Iterations were made along the way based on team feedback.
